Established in 1992, Club Design Ltd is a company that specialises in the design of new sporting facilities, project managing from initial thoughts through to completion. The company has become very experienced in dealing with all aspects of facilities development, starting with sensible and attractive designs, through to planning applications, dealing with funding issues, detailed specifications, costing and budgeting, tender action and site works.
Problem solving is very much part of the development process. We have worked (and are presently working) with many of the governing bodies of sport, including the ECB, RFU, FA and LTA. Whether the scheme is a small refurbishment of a clubhouse, drainage of pitches, new practice facilities or even a large scale club relocation – our approach is targeted at enhancing our reputation in the industry. Our staff are all sporting people, having sat on club committees and dealt with the week to week problems that face sport.
Club Design Ltd was established in 1992 by ex-England cricketer Peter Lever. Peter was joined by son Stuart in 1993 and later by architect Barry Campbell. These three directors have built the company to its present status, enjoying a good reputation for honesty, hard work and diligence. Peter is now retired (acting as occasional consultant) and the principal directors of the company are now Stuart and Barry. |

In 1998, a working partnership was established with the Ratcliff Partnership Ltd, a large company of architects from City Centre, Manchester. Ratcliff’s designed and project managed much of the rebuilding of the city centre following the IRA bomb attack. Club Design Ltd is responsible for all initial scheme design work and detailed layouts, with the Ratcliff Partnership becoming involved in the production of working drawings and on site architectural services. A watching brief is maintained by our company at all times.
Initial project planning, dealing with land sales and purchases, funding strategies, design of clubhouses, sports halls, pitch design and specification, detailed tender process, planning applications, management of budgets (including tax implications) and on-site works – all can be handled without the need for the client to worry about how best to approach these issues. We provide a comprehensive service that we believe to be unparalleled. |
